What we collect
When you create an account or use SigmatiQ, we may collect the following:
- Identity information — name, email address, and profile picture provided by your sign-in provider (Apple or Google).
- Preferences — display settings, notification choices, and workspace configuration.
- Usage data — pages visited, features used, and session duration.
- Device information — browser type, operating system, and screen size.
- IP address — used for security, fraud detection, and approximate geographic region.
Note: We do not collect financial account numbers, brokerage credentials, or payment card details. Paper-trading broker connections use OAuth tokens that never expose your account credentials to us.
Sign-in via Apple & Google
SigmatiQ uses OAuth 2.0 for authentication through Apple and Google. This means:
- We never see or store your password. Authentication is handled entirely by your chosen provider.
- We receive only the information you approve during sign-in (typically name, email, and profile picture).
- You can revoke access at any time through your Apple or Google account settings.
How we use your data
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide the service — deliver market reads, manage your paper portfolio, and sync your workspace across devices.
- Personalize your experience — remember your preferences, display settings, and workspace layout.
- Send service emails — account confirmations, security alerts, and critical product updates (never marketing spam).
- Analyze usage — understand which features are used so we can improve the platform.
- Detect fraud and abuse — protect accounts and maintain platform integrity.
- Comply with the law — respond to legal obligations, requests, or enforceable government demands.
What we never do
- We never sell your data to anyone.
- We never share your data with advertisers.
- We never build behavioral profiles for third parties.
- We never access your brokerage accounts directly.
- We never share your identity with anyone without your consent.
Data retention
We retain your data only as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service.
- Account deletion — when you delete your account, all associated data is permanently removed within 30 days.
- Inactive accounts — accounts with no activity for 12 months are flagged for review. We may reach out before taking any action.
Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Deletion — request that we delete your personal data.
- Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
